Attention All JCDPU Customers:

  • March 2021 - Help with past-due utility bills available through UniteCT

    This State of Connecticut program provides rental and utility payment assistance to qualified Connecticut households financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Per CDC guidelines, individuals that have been vaccinated may enter the office without a mask.

  • Please do not enter the office if you or someone you have had contact with is sick.
  • The office staff maintains good hygiene and infection practices including regular sanitization of frequently touched surfaces. Employees have been encouraged to practice frequent hand washing/sanitizing, respiratory etiquette and to stay at home if they or someone they have come in contact with is sick.

  • All future meetings that would normally be held at the Jewett City DPU will be held over the phone.

To start a new service a customer must complete and submit a commercial or residential application and pay a meter deposit based on the following:

Lighting Only (Oil/Propane Heat) $75.00

This statewide agency coordinates with all utilities including telephone and cable television to ensure that underground lines can be marked before any excavation is performed. Please call at least 2 business days in advance of digging.

Before starting any electrical project, please call our electric plant at 860-376-2877 to coordinate work and inspections and to ensure that you have the required permits.
